Festive inspired Birthday pressies from the fam, note handmade Christmas decorations from Jess and cup cosy knitted by my mum! They also slipped in that delightful magnet, which sums up how they feel about me, lol!

Birthday present to myself!

Hi all,
It's been a a fun and festive couple of weeks!
I took a trip to NYC, to see the Christmas windows at Bergdorf Goodman in 5th ave, the whole avenues looked really pretty with all the twinkly lights :-)
The Christmas tree wasn't quite ready at the Rockefeller, which is a shame, but I'm going to see the tree at the White house tomorrow, stay tuned for photos!

I got to experience my first Thanksgiving too, I was invited to my friend Sarah's house, along with my work colleague Mahesh, who's also from England,
The food was so yummy, and Sarah's family are so welcoming, I've been invited back for Christmas :-)

Also it was my birthday a few days ago, I got myself a fancy fur scarf and my roommates got me a bottle of champagne!

I got presents sent all the way from Manchester to DC from my awesome family, thank you so much!

Also please note:
I put together these drawers all by myself!! Ta daaa....
I'm gonna stain and put new handles on it though (always a visual merchandiser!)

Back to the Big Apple

Hey there, I thought I'd share some photos with you of my recent trip to New York, I was so glad to be back, even though it was a really quick visit! I love is city so much, it holds a little place in my heart, this time I was there, I took the subway to Exchange Place in New Jersey and was able to take in the epic view of the New World Trade Centre, note in the 4th picture to the left, there is what looks like a man sitting down, is actually a sculpture of a fire fighter mourning, it's quite an emotional place!
Whilst driving out of the city, I managed to take a snap of the empire state building, the next time I'll be here, will be Christmas time, can't wait :-)

So happy to be back, relaxing in my new home!

The sky view at Wall Street

Classic American shopping at American Icon, Soho

Family time

Pancakes!

Hey :-)
My parents came to NYC on their jollies, so I got to spend some quality time with them before I move to DC!
We mainly ate and drank, a lot! But I'm not complaining :-) We did a spot of shopping down the lower east side of Manhattan and Soho, which has the coolest stores,
I also experienced a real brunch at Sarabeths, opposite Central Park, it was amazing and I didn't realise that you're supposed to have alcohol with your food, which makes it even better.....oh hello prosecco!
Oh and of course, blueberry pancakes!! Yuuuuum!

I'm off to Washington DC now, let's see what the countries capital city has to offer....
Bye x

Jeff Koons 'Split-Rocker'

Empire State Building

The 'Big' piano (and some weirdos I have to work with)

The super moon in Time Square

The Chrysler behind Grand Central

Washington square park and more bad selfies!

Hey :)
So I've spent the past few days walking around Manhattan, my feet are killing me! I went up 5th avenue to the radio city music hall and wandered around the Rockafella, to see the Jeff Koons sculpture of the 'Split-Rocker' which was very cool!
I also went to the famous FAO Schwarz toy store to see the piano from the movie BIG, life long ambition and one of my favorite movies!
There was a super moon the other night, which actually lit up Time Square, if that's even possible, shame about the H&M sign getting in the way, haha! I got to see what I think is one of the prettiest buildings in New York, the Chrysler!
Oh and I took some selfies in Washington square park, I'm getting better at them.....don't you think?!
