Fast Food

Whilst staying in Virginia I got to experience an authentic American diner, I was healthy at the beginning with a salad sandwich combo, then I go ruin it with a mocha milkshake, yuuum! And the biggest straw in all the land!

Check this cool diner jukebox

Also They love me so much here, they decided to name a salon after me!

Wearing my new 'Stone Cold Fox' top and Topshop boutique trousers to go and eat some delicious all American food, in northern virginia!

Drinking and Shopping

The Smithsonian American Art Museum

African Culture Festival, Downtown DC

New purchases - Coat 'H&M', iPhone Cover 'Free People'

Topshop, almost ready for the grand opening!

Hey :-)
So I've been enjoying the nightlife in DC which is pretty cool, it's not as crazy as New York, but I've come across some real gems! My favorite so far has been 'Madams Organ' situated in the neighborhood of 'Adams Morgan'....get it?! It's interior is a melting pot of random ornaments and junk yard memorabilia, also there's a lot of taxidermy (note the leaping cat in the second photo!)
Adams Morgan is my favorite area so far, every bar seems to have lots of live music going on, ranging from jazz bands to rock and folk music,

I got to do a spot of shopping too for the fall, as most of the clothes I packed seem to be for the summer!
I bought myself a pale pink jacket from H&M, also while I was in NYC I bought a phone case from people people, which is also pink for some reason, I don't know why!!

I then went on a wander around the Smithsonian American art museum, which has really cool stained glass windows, while I was heading back to the train station, I stumbled upon the African Culture festival, selling some amazing clothes, jewelry and food, unfortunately I didn't buy anything, as I'm saving for rent on a new apartment! But it was nice to 'window shop' anyway!

Only one 26days till my new store opens, can't wait to get in there and make it look pretty, I'm so excited to get back to styling again, it's been a while!

Georgetown and The Whitehouse

The White House

The Reflection Pool and Washington Monument

Lincoln Memorial

Pretty houses in Georgtown

The famous Sprinkles cupcake shop

Hi guys,
Sorry it's been a little while, I've been working in northern virginia, which doesn't have the most excited things to report on, unless you're a fan of petrol stations and FedEx! Which...hello...who wouldn't be?!

But I did get a chance to wander into DC for a spot of cultural sightseeing, of course my first stop was the White House, sadly no sighting of the Obamas...yet! I did see their helicopter leaving though, they were probably in it, that's the story I'm sticking with anyway :-)

I also walked around the Washington Monument and the reflection pool, the one from Forrest Gump! I climbed a lot of steps to the impressive Lincoln memorial, it's a great place to sit and take everything in!

I took a wander over to the very pretty neighbourhood of Georgetown, check out the cute colourful houses!
If you've ever watched 'Cupcake Wars' then you'll heard of Candace Nelson, I visited her shop 'Sprinkles' and got a lemon-coconut and red velvet (and yes I ate both)....delicious,

I'm off to do some shoppiiiing!! Finally!
See you soon :-)

The one when the parents came to stay

The sky view at Wall Street

Classic American shopping at American Icon, Soho

Family time

Pancakes!

Hey :-)
My parents came to NYC on their jollies, so I got to spend some quality time with them before I move to DC!
We mainly ate and drank, a lot! But I'm not complaining :-) We did a spot of shopping down the lower east side of Manhattan and Soho, which has the coolest stores,
I also experienced a real brunch at Sarabeths, opposite Central Park, it was amazing and I didn't realise that you're supposed to have alcohol with your food, which makes it even better.....oh hello prosecco!
Oh and of course, blueberry pancakes!! Yuuuuum!

I'm off to Washington DC now, let's see what the countries capital city has to offer....
Bye x
